The supply of competent seafarers is at the very heart of any high-quality management system, and is key to ensuring the safe and economical operation of today’s vessels.

Training is not merely an aspect of our service at AW Crewing Services it underpins our entire philosophy on crewing.

With an in-house extensive knowledge of legislative, statutory and industry training requirements covering the entire maritime industry, we are fully committed to continually developing the knowledge and skills of our crew members to ensure that they are skilled for work and compliant with the necessary regulatory requirements.

We not only give crew members the necessary skills and competences required to maintain the safe and efficient operation of modern vessels, but to also help them get the most out of their careers, both onshore and offshore.

Eligibility

AW Crewing Services are only able to accept applications for Trainee Officer and Rating programmes for European Union nationals who have been ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom for a period greater than one year and meet Royal Naval Reserve entry criteria where applicable.

Deck Officer Programmes:

As a Deck Officer, you will be responsible for the navigation, safety, cargo, communications and management of technologically intensive merchant vessels operating on a global basis.

As an Engineering Officer you will require a detailed technical knowledge of vessel propulsion, electrical and associated equipment and plant installed aboard modern vessels and the practical skills to maintain them.

Electro-Technical Officer Programmes

In addition to the responsibilities and training required for Marine Engineers, Electro-Technical Officers are responsible for the maintenance of a vessels electronic navigation and communication systems. As such they will receive the training and certification in Electronic Navigation Systems and Fault Diagnosis, GMDSS and Radio Maintenance.
